Industrial Engraving

Industrial engraving is any type of laser engraving done for business rather than for personal use. It is widely used across various sectors for consistent, high-quality markings on their products, such as serial numbers, logos, and regulatory information, which are essential for identification, traceability, and compliance. The beauty is that laser engraving means any engraved part numbers or logos are there to stay and can withstand the demands of industrial environments. It is quick process and that means it’s cost-efficient.

At Sussex Lasers, we take immense pride in offering bespoke industrial engraving services, tailored to each business across various industries. We can engrave directly onto parts received from the customers, or we can produce key fobs, bespoke signage, equipment tags and more on a range of different materials. And we will always work to find a solution no matter the size of the project or the complexity.

Below, we detail our comprehensive range of services, each designed to cater to specific industrial needs with precision and efficiency.

Asset Labels /Tags

Asset labels or tags are the ideal way for companies to help identify their products, devices or tools; they can also be used as a tracking aid ensuring that you know where each item is located especially if they are high value items.  Each one can feature barcodes, serial, product and model numbers.

They can be made out of a variety of materials, including vinyl and aluminium depending on what they are being affixed to.  We can also produce them in colour if required. Choose from either self-adhesive labels or having your asset tag permanently laser engraved on to the product, which helps reduce the risk of theft. By using asset labels, you will ensure that your business runs smoothly, enabling you to find the right equipment when needed.

Cable Labels

The use of cable labels is extremely important in any cabling system especially in industries where efficient wiring systems are essential as they help prevent tampering or cables being accidentally unplugged thus reducing the amount of time and money spent by easily troubleshooting issues.

By using cable labels time and money will be saved when moving or adding to any cabling system. Our cable labels are available in a range of materials and can be either printed or laser engraved.

Dials and Scales

Many industrial companies and industries use dials and scales on a daily basis. For this reason, the information on the instruments needs to be engraved clearly and accurately.

Our specialist team are experienced in dealing with complex and intricate jobs and will work with the client to ensure that their specifications are met and accurately reproduced using the most effective laser engraving machine to achieve the required result. We have a variety of different laser engraving machines from Fibre Laser Engravers to larger CO2 laser engravers that help achieve this.

Discs and Tags

Our range of engraved discs and tags are perfect for numerous applications, from machinery identification to safety tags. Customised to meet your specific requirements, these discs and tags offer a reliable solution for streamlined operations and enhanced compliance.

Machine Rating Plates

Virtually all machinery in any industry features an engraved or printed label or nameplate.  These rating plates are invaluable for providing an informative plaque for the end user and can include the machinery’s specification, identification details, compliance certification or even safety warnings.

There are many benefits of using laser engraving technology rather than printing, these include precision, clarity and durability. We can laser engrave on a variety of material including acrylic, Traffolyte, stainless steel, aluminium, brass or wood.

Plaques

All industries require plaques of some description or another, whether it is for door or business signs, providing safety or compliance certification information or just for providing information for employees.

Whatever the material required, we can laser engrave on wood, stainless steel, acrylic, brass or Traffolyte, our skilled staff and range of laser engraving machines ensure that we can fulfil the brief no matter what the size.

Reverse Engraving and Printing

Reverse engraving or printing is usually performed on materials such as acrylic, glass or any other transparent material.  The design, logo, part number etc is laser engraved onto the back or the underside of the material to create a smooth.effect.  To create a more distinct and eye-catching effect the engraved in areas can then be filled in with a contrasting colour.

Reverse engraving can also be employed to achieve a three-dimensional effect, this is particularly advantageous if you are wanting a sign made of wood to stand out. Rather than engrave the text our laser engraving machine engraves the space around the text, thus leaving the text raised and untouched.

Sockets and Switches

Whether you are a small or large business there is a high probability that you use switch and sockets on your machinery or around your workshop or premises.  By laser engraving them with accurate, clear and precise information you ensure that your employees know exactly which switch, plug or socket to use, thus preventing accidentally turning off machinery or panels and therefore, saving you money.

Ideal for hotels, commercial buildings, offices and even in your own home by laser engraving your electrical switches, it will be clear to see what the purpose of switch is, whether it is for a cooker, fan, or tv, you will be able to prevent errors and help clear up any confusion. We are happy for you to supply us with the switches or sockets or we can provide the material for it, the choice is yours.

Traffolyte Labels

Traffolyte (also known as Phenolic Laminate or Abet Hard Laminate) is a rigid, hard-wearing, chemical resistant sturdy plastic which consists of 3 different contrasting-coloured layers.  By laser engraving it for use as a label, whether it is for a warning label, part label or information label, the engraved text comes out as different colour to that of the actual label – making the text stand out.  It’s good insulating properties makes it an ideal choice when looking to add a label to electrical equipment.

When you are considering using labels and you do not want to have to keep replacing them due to wear and tear, Traffolyte labels are a cost-effective solution to the problem.  They are available in a multitude of colours and can be adhered or can be supplied with holes for you to screw on. Traffolyte can also be UV printed if you did not want to go down the laser engraving route.
